Virtual Musical Performance: “The Four Harpsichord Concert” with Nathan Felix

The San Antonio Museum of Art presents an orchestral suite by composer Nathan Felix, featuring newly written music for four harpsichords, strings, and a choir. The music draws inspiration from the exhibition America’s Impressionism: Echoes of a Revolution. Local harpsichord builder Gerald Self will introduce the performance with a brief discussion on the history of harpsichords and give insight into his building process.
This one time performance will occur on Friday September 3rd starting at 6:30pm in the Great Hall. Felix is known for his guerilla style approach in presenting classical music in unconventional spaces and 4-Harpsichords in Surround Sound is given no exception, with a performance utilizing space and acoustics.
Originally an ‘in-person’ event, the concert on September 3rd is now a virtual event to be broadcast on YouTube, Facebook and additional platforms. For links to the virtual stream register on San Antonio Museum of Art’s website and an email with link options will be sent out the day of the concert. The 'in-person' concert has been postponed to November 12th.
